Bryan Mathews

Hello my name is Bryan Mathews. I'm from a small town in Northeast Oklahoma called Morris, you've probably never heard of it. In high school I lettered in basketball, band, and golf. I graduated from Morris high school in May of 2006.

With diploma in hand I moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma to attend college. My first major was Geology, but I changed half way through the program to secondary Education with a focus in Earth and Space Science. Besides school I loved intramural sports at OSU. My intramural team, G-Unit, won championships in basketball, volleyball, and horseshoes (which I'm most proud of).

I graduated from OSU in May of 2011. In the fall of that same year I began teaching Earth Science at Putnam City North high school. While at PCN I coached girls basketball and tennis. PCN is also where I met my wife Megan, pictured above. We have been married for five years and have one son, Solomon Xander who is three and a one year old girl named Magnolia Mae.

I've been at Deer Creek for three years. I teach earth science and physical science. In the fall I coach cross country and in the spring I coach girls tennis.

I enjoy teaching and coaching, but I love being able to pour into the lives of students. I'm very humbled by the opportunity to spend a whole year with the same students, getting to know them and their families, and see them grow.
