Clase de Español I /Spanish I class

Originally I am from Venezuela; I have been residing in the United States for over six years now. I took the challenge as a Bilingual Assistant for the English Language Learners Program (ELL) at the Oneta Ridge Middle School at Broken Arrow Public Schools in 2013. Ever since, I came to the United States, I have been passionate in my commitment to three things: maximizing individual student performance, inspiring students’ interest in foreign languages and mathematics, and instilling a sense of self-worth among all students from different countries.

My previous experience is in Computer Engineering and I have a Bachelor in Computer Science. My passion for teaching has provided me with the knowledge and courage necessary to take the challenge to apply for the Alternative teaching Certificate trough the Oklahoma Department of Education. In September of 2014 I successfully received my Teaching Certificate in Spanish PK-12, Intermediate Mathematics 5-12 and Mid-Level Math for High School Credit 5-8 and Broken Arrow Public Schools gave me the opportunity to be a Math Teacher of sixth graders.

My experiences as an ELL Bilingual Assistant, substitute teacher in Math and Spanish classes have afforded me with the opportunity to interact with diverse student populations and engage them in learning, providing high-interest learning material, multiple means of assessment and instruction, as well as carefully modeling of new skills; I strive to ensure that every student achieves excellence. Also, I am passionate about teaching children and forge relationships with them that help build a sense of confidence and enable them to grow as learners. It was this experience that inspired me to re-evaluate my career and return to school to become a teacher.

It is an honor to teach Spanish I to the students and serve to the Deer Creek Public Schools that maintains high educational standards and provides students with opportunities for personal and professional growth.
