Mrs. Jill Auten

Auten in Egypt

Hi all!

My name is Mrs. Jill Auten. I have been in the teaching world now for 5.5 years. I started my teaching career in Fort Smith, Arkansas where I was born and raised. I taught 8th grade Pre-Ap and on-level World History and I was the sponsor for my school's National Junior Honor Society chapter. After my husband happily accepted a job offer in OKC we moved here to the Edmond suburb with our dog-children. I taught at both Putnam City High School and Yukon Middle School, but I yearned to make a difference and teach within the community I live. I am so very grateful to call Deer Creek High School my work home!

If you yearn to know more--

I have so much fun visiting museums and antique shops. It is rare that I watch television, but when I do my t.v. can be found on Animal Planet, HGTV, or the Travel Channel. I enjoy comedies, war movies, and love stories. I like trying to complete DIY projects. I married a soldier, who has recently returned from deployment, with whom I share lots of laughter. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education at the University of Arkansas--Fort Smith in 2011 and my Master's degree in Educational Technology from the University of Arkansas--Fayetteville in 2016. I have a passion for traveling the world and immersing myself in other cultures. I enjoy shopping and sweets a little too much and I adore my friends and family.
