Deer Creek Bass Fishing Club

About us: We fish local ponds when available and provide some opportunity for competitive tournament fishing. 

Environmental Club

Meetings at 3:00 pm every Thursday in room # 152

About us: The goal for this club is to make our school more Earth friendly by collecting recycling around the school and keeping members informed of current environmental issues and how they can get involved in helping our environment.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Huddle

Sponsors: Derek Dennis, Alex Moorehead, and Russell Caldwell                  

Meeting location: HS FB Stadium in the home stands (weather permitting) & Auxillary Gym (bad weather).

Meeting dates and times: Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm

About us: The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives… one heart at a time. Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. Our huddle meetings include games, food, fun, & speakers to encourage us in our faith. We have 4 Core Values:  Integrity, Serving, Teamwork, and Excellence.

Gay Straight Alliance (GSA)

Meets weekly Monday at 3:10 pm & Tuesday at 7:30 am

About us: GSA is a student-run club that brings together LGBTQI+ and straight students to support each other, provide a safe place to socialize, and create a platform to discuss racial, gender, LGBTQ, and economic justice.

About us: Volunteer based organization through the Kiwannis Club of Edmond. We organize events where students can volunteer, as well as, get out the word about local events that need student volunteers. 

Link Crew

Sponsor: Katy Carmincke, room FA204

About us: Link Crew is a teacher-sponsored, student-led organization that consists of 60 junior and senior students who serve to help incoming freshmen acclimate and assimilate to high school both socially and academically. They host the freshman orientation at the beginning of the year and various other social events throughout the school year.

National Arts Honor Society

About us: The National Art Honor Society was established in 1978 in the United States by the National Art Education Association for high school students grades 10-12, for "the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art". 

National Honor Society

Sponsor: Wendy Frailey, Media Center

Meetings are held in the Student Center. The dates are postd on Ms. Frailey’s website.

Who Are We? 

We are a large group of DCHS student leaders who volunteer to help others throughout the DC community and beyond. We uphold the four pillars of the National Honor Society: character, leadership, service, and scholarship. 

Who Can Join? 

Students must be classified as sophomores, juniors, or seniors, and have a transcripted, cumulative weighted GPA of 3.85 or higher. Additionally, students must have past credit in two or more advanced classes, such as AP, Pre-AP, or concurrent classes, and current enrollment in two or more advanced classes. Students must complete and turn in the application after they are notified of qualification, and members must finish and document 20 hours of service/volunteer work during the school year. (Further details will be shared upon notification.)

When Will Students be Notified? 

Grades will be verified mid-September by the registrar, and then “invitations” are sent out.  These notifications go out late September to let students know if they qualify. If you feel you meet the standards but do not receive an invitation, please contact Ms. Frailey in the Media Center. 

Piano Club

Sponsor: Mr. Johnson, HS Choir Room (room 154)

Meets once a month after school for 45 minutes

About us: Piano Club is for those students interested in performing, practicing and listening to piano music.  There are no requirements to join and you do not have to play piano to be a member.

Sophomore Council

Sponsor: Jill Auten, Annex room #201

Meeting times and dates:  N/A

About us: Class officers will sell sophomore class  t-shirts as a fundraiser and create a class fundraiser to raise money for prom. They will also partake in the homecoming parade and help decorate the school for WWF week. All sophomores are welcome and encouraged to help the officers and can ask an officer or Mrs. PiAuten for any information. Class officers can be found on the StuCo page of the DCHS website.
